Companies, such as Curis, hold most of the patents for manipulating the pathway. Genentech signed a contract with Curis and are bringing Hh antagonist into the clinic for BCC and other solid tumors. Proctor and Gamble also signed a contract with Curis to take an agonist into the clinic for hair growth. Curis also signed a contract with Wyeth for neurological disorders. Another company called Infinity Pharmaceuticals has hinted that it plans to file for investigational new drug (IND) for pancreatic and prostate cancer. Other companies such as Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Biogen, Novartis and Pfizer have all published papers but have not disclosed if they are going to file for IND.
